We recently received this letter from Margaret, a listener who moved from Carlton, Tasmania to Brisbane:
To all you wonderful presenters,
I’ve been listening to you in Carlton for years and years and it was an automatic part of my day and night and loved it. I’ve had to move to Brisbane indefinitely but couldn’t find a decent station, so I went to a computer genius and he found it on my computer. I was over the moon.
Brisbane’s so big and noisy and rather stressful but now that I have my favourite radio station, it’s a sanity saver for me -- specially now that I have wi-fi where I am, so it can be on all day and night.
My friends up here love it and are in the process of getting it on their computers also.
Visitors all praise the music also. I’m so happy now. Thank you for the pleasure you give us all and everyone.
In August as a result of the work being undertaken to install new equipment, Hobart FM had three days where, between the hours of 9am and 4pm, a wide variety of easy listening music from our files was presented to our listeners.
We then ran a survey to see what our listeners thought of the music we played over those 3 days. Over 100 people contacted the station and gave feedback. We are very pleased to advise that, of all those who took part in the survey, not one did not like what Hobart FM presented over those 3 days.
Naturally, comments were made that some listeners missed a presenter, but the overall result was an endorsement of the music policy in place during that period.
This information has now been passed onto the new Programming Sub-Committee for future consideration of the directions the station may look at taking
