David Carr
David is a musician and trained music teacher and lived in NSW before moving to Hobart in 2004.  After being interviewed on "Tassie Experiences" he thought that community radio would be a great way to share some of his musical knowledge. He applied to join and train as a presenter and volunteered for early morning vacancies.
When he was offered a breakfast timeslot he "grabbed it with both hands" and is currently heard on Thursday mornings between 6:00 and 9:00 am and also the Thursday drive show between 4:30 and 6:00pm. He plays music from the 50's to the 80's with a few jokes and surprises thrown in.

I have been presenting the "Tassie Experiences" Program for 2 years.  I first discovered the station whilst in hospital and enjoyed the family atmosphere and personal touches.
My former cafe was a sponsor of the station and then I became interested in being a presenter myself.
I now own and run Brookfield Vineyard that hosts many local and international performers and through my business have lots of contact with artists of all styles of music.   I hope to bring you some insight, enjoyment and variety on Tuesday Nights between 9 and 12 pm.      Keep listening.

Lloyd Saward

I was introduced to Hobart FM by an ex railway mate who had his radio tuned to 92.1fm country music. From then on as I liked country music my radio was tuned to 92.1fm.  I became a member and was given the opportunity to present a program of my own. I am proud to be with Hobart FM.

Phil Williams

I began listening to Hobart FM when the translator to the northern suburbs came online - and I liked what I heard - they were playing my kind of music!  I have a varied taste in music from light classics, country, middle of the road - anything with a beat or melody. My biggest passions are the 1950's and 1960's, especially the so-called Merseybeat era of the early to mid 1960's. I played bass in local bands during this period so that is probably why I love that era. I try to put variety into my programmes and hope the listners enjoy the memories as much as I enjoy playing them.

Pieter Van Dam
I arrived in Australia in 1993 as a backpacker, with the intention of leaving after twelve months. After meeting my wife in Sydney the following year I decided instead to stay permanently in Australia. Since that time we have lived in Sydney, Brisbane and Hobart but we really enjoy the Tasmanian lifestyle and therefore call it home.  I have been involved with the Dutch program since 2004 and enjoy presenting. I like sharing a piece of my Dutch heritage with listeners of the show.

Terry Mather Terry has been involved with Hobart FM since 1994 and has been Treasurer for the past 12 years. In addition to the Treasurer’s position he also occupies the role of Public Officer.

Terry’s extensive knowledge of the Community Broadcasting sector has seen him recently re-elected for a fourth term to the General Grants Advisory Committee with the Community Broadcasting Foundation, a national funding organisation servicing the Community Broadcasting sector.

His involvement in community work started over 40 years ago while growing up on Tasmania’s West Coast, he has been involved with many not for profit organisations in this time, including 25 years participation in an honorary capacity in Tasmanian Harness Racing at an administration level, including the positions of Treasurer with the Tasmanian Pacing Club and Secretary/Treasurer of the New Norfolk Pacing Club.

Terry’s role as Treasurer of 92fm has seen the station’s financial position consolidate over the past few years to one of sound stability.

Terry’s love of music, in particular sixties music, sees him in a different role of Monday mornings at 9.00am on “Good Time Radio” a program that plays music from a bye gone era.

He also has a passion for early Australian rock’n’roll, which can be heard from time to time on “Good Time Radio”, and Terry is of the strong opinion that if it wasn’t for the British invasion of the 60’s, a lot of early Australian artists would have reached far greater heights than they did.

Tim Kingston

Started at 7CAE FM when it was at the College of Advanced Education back in late 1979.

Started just changing tapes and announcing the time, maybe that’s why I am so pedantic about the time.

I started to fill in of a Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 5 am to 7 am (in early 1980) because back then the midnight to dawn finished at 5 am and the breakfast show started at 7.00 am.

After nine months of this the then committee decided that the midnight to dawn would finish at 6.00 am and the breakfast show would start at 6.00 am. This effectively wiped out my three slots so they offered Saturday morning 6 to 8 which I accepted. This year in December will see my completing 26 years on air of a Saturday morning.

My music is mainly solo artists from the fifties through to the seventies, I never did get into groups as such and I lean towards the folkish sounds. The new stuff is new releases of old tracks or the easy listening folk sounds of today.

Mostly Old But Something New is on Saturday Mornings 6.00 am through until 8.00 am. I also do every second Friday breakfast which is completely different to the Saturday show and this is called "Mostly Fridays but Sometimes Saturday " as the music is Friday music up-tempo usually and more modern than the 50's and 60's that I usually play of a Saturday morning.

Tim is a Life Member of Hobart FM
