Hobart Language Day

It’s only right that
Hobart FM Community and Multi-Cultural Broadcasters
should be promoting such a fabulous event.
HOBART LANGUAGE DAY
Sunday 22nd April 2018
Now in its fourth year, this festival promises excitement and adventure into cultures and the diversity that is Tasmania. With live music from all different parts of the world, dances, food, readings and calligraphy,
Mathers House, the Community Centre next to the Murray Street LINC library building
will come to life on Sunday 22nd April from 10am to 1pm.
This event is organised by Sonia Parra, one of Hobart FM’s Spanish broadcasters, the station will have a group of presenters there to record highlights of the day for later broadcast.

For more information go to

This date — 23rd April — is also World Book Day, the Catalonian festival of San Jordi, Madrid's Book Day, the Language Day in Latin America and the English Language Day.  So it’s a very special day. We are celebrating the languages spoken in Hobart, language diversity, literature in various languages and books in general.
